TVI staff member
Tracey Rooney answers many questions from the perspective of a working
actress in Los Angeles |
|
Q) Why do I need this trip?
|
Actors from all around the nation flock
to Los Angeles with little to no knowledge of industry contacts.
They spend many months and even years just trying to get started.
TVI supplies the knowledge and opens the doors to those contacts
in just 5 days.
|
Q) By enrolling in this intensive am
I guaranteed work as an actor?
|
Your enrollment is never a guarantee of employment, but many
past participants have booked roles in TV, Films, Soaps and Commercials
as a direct result of this program. In addition, many actors have
signed with talent agencies, even before the intensive was over.
|
Q) How should I dress during the intensive
and what are the hours?
|
Dress is casual, although you want to look presentable in front
of agents and casting directors. The days usually start at 12:30
and end around 10:00pm. You will have breaks throughout the day.
|
Q) How many pictures and resumes should
I bring?
|
Since you will meet 20 industry pros including producers, casting
directors, agents, etc., you will need at least 20 pictures, but
we suggest 50 or more as you may be requested to leave some with
an agent.
|
Q) Do I need any prepared work?
|
Yes! You need one monologue, no longer than three minutes to
perform for the agents. You can use the same monologue throughout
the 5 days. For the casting directors you do cold readings which
is provided by them.
